Parable of the Sower (Pages 125-195)

So much has changed! Lauren’s life has taken a turn for the worse, but it seems she is handling these unfortunate events well. Without her family, Lauren prevails as a strong protagonist and an able survivor. I find that the book is getting more interesting as I continue. Now that Lauren has left her home, the reader gets a more detailed look at the world outside her now torched community. As she travels, the reader gets a stronger sense of danger. It is clear that the outside is not safe and the people there cannot be trusted. In my opinion, this makes for a more intense and fast-paced storyline. Although there are still many unanswered questions, I feel that being exposed to the world outside the community’s walls answers some of them. As the book unravels, a darker more sinister tone reveals itself.
