Dana Styer

This part of the reading brought forth a lot of the reality in Kris's life.  We see even more how she is struggling with paying her bills, taking care of her kids, and her past.  I was very surprised when she decided to work at Rocky Flats.  During the whole book so far, we here a lot of rumors and stories about what goes on in the Rocky Flats but we are never told exactly what is happening.  During chapter six, we have a first person point of view of what it is like to work there.  Along with seeing her mother, Kris also took some time to go visit her father who is in the hospital.  He has never seen Sean or Nathan and as soon as they say hello she is forced to leave.  Towards the end of the chapter, she states that she hasn't seen her father in over a year.  While she is driving with her boys one day, she is almost hit by a car.  She it stunned because she recognizes the driver.  It was her father.
I wonder what will happen to the people working in the Rocky Flats.  Will they eventually find out what is actually going on in the plant?  How long can Kris carry herself and her family without a "live by the paycheck" job?
