Full Body Burden Chapters 4 & 5
In Chapters 4 and 5 there is one parallel that I noticed. As Rocky Flats falls apart so does Kris’s life. It seems as though everyday Rocky Flats is being called out for another horrific action. Poor Kris has to endure Marc’s death, her father’s disappearance from her family, her undecided siblings, and zombie-like mother. Another parallel I noticed was revealed when Kris stated “Although I sometimes I worry that my hasty marriage is playing out unhappy patterns from my parents’ situation” (217). This quote is unfortunate evidence that Kris’ life is just a repetition from her childhood. Kind of like the way Rocky Flats has repeated it’s kniving ways for so long.
