Group Idea Consorti

A local West Chester congressman, Jim Gerlach, co-sponsored a 2008 bill. H.R 2784 which called for alternatives to fossil fuels. It would fund renewable energy projects among other things. Currently it has a 1% chance of being signed by the president and I'm sure not many people, local or otherwise, know about it. I don't know if the bill is still being debated on, or utterly forgotten about, but a class of however many people all working towards a common goal could cause some commotion. If everyone wrote a letter to Gerlach, after a more thorough understanding of the situation, maybe he would push harder to get it passed. Alternatively, we could write to opponents of the bill and ask them to rethink their opposition. Maybe half the class could be assigned this, and the other half could try to raise awareness of our representatives previous efforts. Or everyone could do both things. I think that this could be an easy way to use our time together to attempt making a difference.
