Chapter 6 FBB Consorti

I think Rocky Flats calls to Iverson. She is drawn back to her home and to a place she feels that she needs to know more about. I believe she took the job at first because subconsciously she wanted to know more about the plant. While moving back to her home town is physically detrimental to her, and her children, the money proved worth it. Iverson shows herself in denial before she applys for the job, "I debate wether or not its safe to work there. The money is sorely tempting, and I reason to myself that if there is contamination out there, I've already been exposed to it." (245) This denial goes hand in hand with what her father preached in her childhood. Her father is in critical condition in the hospital because of his drinking, and the Iversons mother makes remarks about quitting smoking. Neither changed their ways and the father already is paying the price. This seems to be an early warning for her to be aware of the denial she is in during this chapter.
