John Zim FBB Chapters 4 and 5

As we further ourselves into Iverson's piece, we witness Rocky Flats becoming more exposed. The Rocky Flats community is now tired of pretending to be oblivious to the destruction happening to their town. The people are finished ignoring the issue and acting as if the pollution will, at some point, fix itself. I wonder why it took so long for the people of Rocky Flats to acquire this attitude. If then were aware earlier of the devastation the plutonium was causing, why did the citizens of the town avoid being proactive? I feel that if I was part of the Rocky Flats community I would let my voice be heard. It is important to make quick decisions in regards to helping yourself and the ones around you. I believe that neglecting to take action is not only cowardly, but extremely detrimental. The world that the Rocky Flats people now live in is one of great despair. I believe that Iverson's reasoning behind writing this book was to engender a sense of anger in the reader. She wants the person who picks up her book to become an advocate for fighting a faulty system. I believe that Iverson succeeds in her cause.
