Chapter 4 and 5, Michael Weiss

These two chapters have brought about the end of Rocky Flats. All the secrets that have been hidden behind barbed wire and armed guards have now been released to the public. The thing that amazes me is that everyone now feels the need to come about about it. It has been thirty years and now the people of Denver are fed up. The other part that was interesting is that it's end was brought about by the government itself. The government was no better than the people of Colorado as they turned a blind eye as well. The workers though cared more about their jobs then their own life as they refused to talk. Why would someone want a job that can mess up your children and own body? The entire book this silence has loomed over everyone, and now that it is over the future is unclear.
Besides Rocky Flats, Kris's life is also falling apart. After having a difficult life with an alcoholic father, she loses the man she loves. The only thing that seemed good for her, besides Tonka, is now gone. Also her mother still refuses to divorce the father, even though he has literally disappeared. This stubbornness amazes me because she could now have freedom and refuses to take it. If she wasn't so concerned with keeping up appearances, she could start fixing her life and making it better for her children.
