FBB#7 : Laura Bruce

This chapter made me realize how much foreshadowing Iversen uses in the book. Every extra detail she slips in, which seems inconsequential to us, is actually calculated to give us a glimpse into what will happen next. I'm very worried that her telling us about Tamara and her medical problems will lead to her revealing that she herself has more health problems than what she has had so far. I'm glad she left Rocky Flats, but it definitely shocked me the way she presented her idea to write her book. "I'm going to write a book about Rocky Flats," Iversen says right out of the blue (pg 283). There isn't any ruminating or any other insight. She just threw it at us. I was taken by surprise. It didn't occur to me that she would have wanted to write a book on that so quickly.
