FBB chapter 7 Consorti

There has been another fire in the plant, this time during the clean up operation. There was a growing indifference to the clean up operation " People aren't so concerned about the site. If the people don't care, the elected officials don't care." (Iverson 288). This reminded me of what our class is working on right now, saving Barclay park. I think it's an important lesson, and that we can learn from the firefighters observation. The public needs to care firstly about the clean up of Rocky Flats, and secondly about the importance of Barclay park. The deaths and sickness continue to add up, all due to radiation sickness. I noticed in the beginning Kristen speaks with her former supervisor about the things Rocky Flats was hiding. It related to the end of the chapter where even in the plants death, things were still being hidden. (the burning of the grass)
