Loren Killian Parable of the Sower 244-end
I wasn't very satisfied with the conclusion of Parable of the Sower. I think it's because I'm so used to fictional stories having happy endings. I was sort of expecting Bankole and Lauren to get together, but it was still a little shocking at first. Lauren is very mature and has acted like an adult for a long time, so their relationship made sense. It was a little upsetting that she had to forget about Curtis who she really seemed to love. I think it was smart for her to decide to stay on Bankole's land because who's to say that there even is a "better place" farther north? I don't believe that there is, and if there is it wont be for long. The pyros have spread and almost everything is burned down and destroyed. It's safest to stay there because it's away from the main road, there is already a small community there, Bankole owns it and already knows it well. I also would have made the decision Lauren made. I think eventually others in her group will practice Earthseed with her, but it will take a while for them to fully open up to it. Overall, I really enjoyed Parable of the Sower. Even though it wasn't the type of ending I was expecting I liked that it was very realistic. That was a big change from the usual.
