PotS Final Consorti

I think the book ends with a cautiously hopeful note. Supposedly a happy Earthseed community has star
ted, and things will carry on where everyone loves and cares for one another for the rest of eternity.
This does not make sense, and it doesn't fall in line with the rest of the novel. The whole book poses
the question; is it possible to survive while being good? The answer seems to be overwhelmingly no. The
original owners of the land that Bankole brought everyone to was burned. The first community was destroyed. but, the last paragraph of the book is the story of the sower. The story explains how most of the
seeds did not grow at all, but one flourished and produced a bounty. It parallels with Laurens community. Her original home may have just been a seed that failed, this new attempt may be just another
failed seed. What is important is that there was a group of around 10 people who were willing to defend
one another. There is proof that good people can come together and survive. Sadly there is not much else as bankole argues at the end. There isnt enough changed that could convince me that the new community
is half as safe as the first that was destroyed. What is important though, is the new groups origins.
They all grew up knowing the dangers of the world they live in. There are no adults to do nothing, and
hope that nothing happens to them. Laurens group will be prepared. This is proof enough for me that
it is possible to survive and maintain good morals. The ending is optimistic in a way that it is implied
that other people are either doing the same thing, or that it just may need a few more tries.
