John Zim (Chapter 2)

As chapter two progresses, we begin to see growth in the community's awareness in regards to the negative effects caused by pollution. We also see the toll Kristin's life is taking on her. As a young child, having an alcoholic father along with a dysfunctional home life can be very taxing. Although Kristin seems to be ahead of her years as far as maturity is concerned, I feel she is no exception to this fact. The Rocky Flats community is also experiencing increasingly difficult times. The leaking of plutonium is causing abnormalities in the growth of bunnies. I believe that the effects the plutonium is having on the bunnies is foreshadowing things to come with the people who populate the town.
