Kristen’s story is inspiring, while her family is falling apart she makes it sound so easy to keep herself together. She is my age and she begins o truly take care of herself. I cannot imagine having a drunk as a father and a Mother so weak, I hope I would be as strong and she is. Her relationship with Mark makes me happy, I was glad she found someone so caring and interesting. His death is devastating, I am curious to find out how Kris will deal with the loss.
As i was reading i was wondering what made Kris write this book, as she telling her story she mentions that she was not very knowledgeable about what was going on at Rocky Flats at the time. She was not one of the protesters and did not want anything to do with what was going on. When all of the protesting and Court cases were going on she was not passionate about the problem, yet she wrote a book surrounding Rock Flats. Once I reached the end of the chapter, i predict that Mark’s death will have something to do with her being more involved. After all he was passionate about the topic.
Excellent points Nicole. I believe the very fact that she was not passionate while it was going on is what made her write the book. Once a person wakes up to a reality, it is really hard to ignore it.
