Loren Killian parable of the sower 125-196
There is a lot that happens in this section. It starts off with the Garfield family being accepted into Olivar. Lauren's father goes missing and is nowhere to be found. The community gives him a funeral without ever even finding a body. Then, they all split up his duties. Lauren finally tells Curtis she will marry him when her family gets back on their feet. They plan to run away together, and stay far away from Olivar as it might be a trap. I agree with this. Olivar may seem like the best bet or the safest get away, but it could easily be even more dangerous than there neighborhood is. I would be very skeptical about going there because of the possibility of being trapped and enslaved. Not long after their conversation, the neighborhood gets invaded by the paints. They set everything on fire and kill almost everyone. Lauren makes it out without her family. Outside of the walls is terrifying. There's dead bodies everywhere, and so many opportunities to get jumped, raped, robbed, or murdered. She finds Zahra and Harry. She just comes out and says that she saw their families corpses when she went back to her house to collect what she could. I'm not too sure if I believe that Zahra really saw Lauren's family get murdered. She said herself that she went crazy after seeing Bibi get killed. I won't believe that any of her family is dead until she actually finds bodies and evidence. Eventually, Lauren tells her new traveling partners about her hyperempathy. This takes a lot of courage, but she understands it wouldn't be fair not to tell them. This could end up helping or hurting her, but it was necessary for them to know.
