I did not set the book down once while reading this section
of the reading! Now that Laura is beyond the walls, not of her own will but of
thieves, she is beginning to head north.
Laura is quickly realizing that the skills she taught herself are very useful
outside the walls. She is also opening
up to the people she is traveling with.
She told them about her “sharing” which in my opinion, may be the most
important part of this section. Her
syndrome has caused her to put walls up when she is around others just like the
walls of her town are protecting the people from being hurt. It is interesting to me to see the irony of
the walls of her town coming down, and her own walls coming down to gain trust
with other people. I am thankful that
the three decided to stick together and I am excited to see what adventures
they hope to overcome in the next reading.
